I would have liked to hit $400k this month, but it was still a pretty decent month. I continued to move some money from savings into investments, but that is close to coming to an end as I don't want to drop the savings below $20k.

Well, January brought a rough start to the year with a declining market. The big losses that you see in the savings account are due to money that I used to buy on some of the stock market dips, which is the only reason some of the investment accounts are positive for the month. Growth is good. This has been a great year and I'm starting to get some goals in mind for 2014. I have already surpassed most of the goals I had for 2013, and they felt "lofty" when I made them. Will 2013 be a $100k year?...

Back to back strong months will help me finish the year wear I wanted to be. The stock market has been on a tear. It's already been my best year ever, and with 2 months to go, it will hopefully only get better, but anything can happen.

That's more like it. After a few months of little to no gains for various reasons, it's good to be back at it. Overall, it's been a great year and, hopefully, I can finish the last few months strong.

Well, I had hoped that August would get things back on pace, after a couple of rough months, but that didn't happen. I've never had a year where every month was positive and 2013 is no different. August was a bad month for the stock market and my accounts took their bruises. I guess September will have to be the turn around month. No mercy.

At first glance it might appear that July was a pretty bad month. My net worth increased less than $300. But, July was actually a great month. I was forced to purchase a new car which was not the great part. The great part was that even with spending as much money as I did on my new car, my net worth still grew. The growth outpaced even this large expense, and that feels pretty cool, as I was certainly expecting to have a negative month.

June was the first down month of the year for the stock market. I took losses in most of my investment accounts but was able to just eek out a positive month due to contributions to my Vanguard individual account. Even with June, it's been a great first half of the year, well beyond record setting pace.
