July was a pretty solid month where my 401k finally passed $100k.

Well, this changes things. :(

I think I heard that May was the worst month for the stock market in the last two years. We certainly felt it.

April wasn't a particularly great month for us financially, it certainly wasn't as good as the first 3 months of the year. The stock market had lower performance, and we had some irregular expenses including a vacation and a decent tax bill. It was, however, still a positive month, and a great first quarter of 2012.

Another month of gettin it done. The first quarter of 2012 has been good for us. Let's see how long we can keep this up.

Another solid month that has continued our great start to 2012. Five digit gaining months are still fairly rare, but getting more common. Time to get that 401k over $100k.

That's a good start to 2012. The market rose in January and we reaped the benefits. It put our net worth over a quarter of a million dollars, which is pretty cool. Is 2012 going to be a record setting year?

A decent finish to 2011. Our net worth grew $52,769.10 this year. It wasn't as good as we did in 2010, but it was just the brutal August and September months that set us back. I'm happy with what we accomplished in 2011, and we'll reach for even more in 2012.

Our average monthly gain for the year is a little over $4k, so November was a pretty standard month. Hopefully we can finish the year with a strong December. We're sneaking up on a quarter million.

And...... recovery. After two brutal months October brought us a full recovery with a big month. Gaining over $17k in one month would be pretty exciting if we didn't know that we were just regaining what we had lost. However, an additional bright spot is that in October we bought a new car. With cash. I received a pay out check for a small start up that I invested a few thousand dollars in several years ago and then we took a few thousand from our savings account to pay the rest. I...
