November was another solidly positive month. I've always followed the pay yourself first policy, but I've attempted to push the limits of what I feel comfortable paying myself which has resulted in the larger increases in savings over the last few months.

October was another good month. I always worry that after a big month like we had in September, it will be that much harder to make any gains the following month. Fortunately, that wasn't case and we pretty much saw gains across the board. Things have been going pretty well, and the more progress we make, the more I am motivated to find ways to ratchet it up. $200k is getting close.

Wow, another big month. Can't complain about months with a 5 digit increase. As you can see, most of the gains came in my investment portfolio, so we'll see if some of it gets taken back by the end of October.

Not a particularly exciting month. Most of our investment accounts dropped a little, but we were able to make up for it with some extra contributions to our savings account. I am getting kind of sick of seeing my 401k and Roth IRA hovering just below $50k and $40k respectively. I'd like to see them breakthrough those barriers.

Wow, stock market gains at the end of July really gave a big boost to our net worth. (Never mind the fact that those gains have probably all been lost in today's market beatdown.) So, although the nice vacation we enjoyed took a couple of thousand out of our savings, it was way more than made up for in gains. July set a new record for gains in a single month.

A bit of a late net worth update again. I guess when we have these negative months, I have a little less motivation to post them for all to see. There's not much we can do about the stock market losses, which is where most of our net worth losses come from, so we continue to prod along and make our regular investments and let dollar cost averaging do it's work. We do have an expensive trip planned for the end of July which will certainly show up in our next net worth update.

Well, I was "unimpressed" with our gains of over $4k last month, so it was only appropriate that I get reminded of what is possible. With a drop in the stock market, we saw a substantial loss in our accounts. Some money was transfered from our ESPP to our brokerage account, but most of the losses are due to falling stocks. Hopefully things will turn back around in June.

Our gains this month weren't anything like last month, but I suppose we are in a pretty good place when an increase of over $4.4k feels somewhat unimpressive. I should note that we hit a bit of a milestone this month at $150k. It took us 2 years and 4 months to go from $50k to $100k, but it only took 8 months to go from $100k to $150k. It must have something to do with compounding interest... and a recovering economy.

At the beginning of this year, I made a goal to have a month where our worth increased by $10,000. It was a pretty big goal because our previous best month was about $7.5k. So, I was pretty surprised to see us reach that goal so quickly. We had a monster of a month in March. It feels good to get back those losses.

February was better than January and more in line with my hopes going forward. Hopefully we'll be able to keep it up and have a strong year.
